bg-homepage-communityBeginner Sewing Basics – This is a “one on one” class. Learn to sew. Class is 2 – 3 hour sessions.  Classes can be scheduled any free day from 1:30 to 4:30pm. Click on this link to Enroll Now and we will then pick the day you wish to come.

Learn to thread and use your machine for straight stitch. Practice the basic seam allowances. Materials will be provided for 2 skill builder projects. Make a quick and easy project with a commercial pattern. Learn to read the pattern and guide sheet. Layout the pattern and cut the fabric for your project. Complete your pattern project in class.

Purchase your pattern and fabric before your first class. Measure your hip circumference for pants and bust for a top size. Purchase a basic cotton broadcloth print or solid using the pattern requirements for yardage.  (no velour, fleece, sheers, plaids or knits.) Pattern recommendations are below.  

A Sewing Machine can be provided on request. Basic sewing equipment can also be provided for class. Use the comments section of your order or the contact form for questions.

Patterns are Butterick 3460, Butterick 5480, Butterick 6440, Simplicity 8826, and Simplicity 2290.
