Fall is my favorite time of the year! I love the clear cooler days and the colors and am really inspired to create some sewing and embroidery projects to welcome the season. The acorn is an embroidery design I made using my Studio 10 embroidery machine to do. The machine comes with auto punch software. Using the draw program I cleaned up the artwork and in one step made this lovely embroidery design which is free for you to download. acorn
I have several Fall embroideries to offer you and am experimenting with the links from this blog page. You should be able to click on the links and open the designs from the download file on your computer. For designs from the Gallery make sure you change the name of the file from _ to.format. Have fun. If you have trouble let me know.

As promised I am sharing my embroidered wreath. This is a very easy project. The hardest thing was wrapping the tinsel garland around the styro foam wreath. Using my Futura Quintet and my new Singer Studio S10 I loaded several floral designs to embroider with red thread. I hooped 2 layers of sparkle organza and embroidered many of these flowers in my spare time. I cut each flower out and pinned it to the wreath.
It took a lot of flowers. The purple flower design I found on the Singer Studio. I am including a link to a free design I made using auto punch. I am offering Auto punch as one of the 3 programs that will come free with the Studio S10.
I hope you like my new Christmas wreath. Nice thing is I can keep adding things to the wreath using 3-D embroidery.
Here is a free Singer applique design from Jenny’s Sewing Studio. Make sure you save as .format and not_format when you download. Stitch the design as an applique or as a patch. I used a gold base fabric.
Our backyard is full of activity this Spring. The birds are pairing off and we have quite a few couples visiting the feeders. Every day we see the cardinals, the chickadee, the blackbirds, mallard ducks, blue jays, doves, and more. To get in the mood of the bardyard songbirds Amazing Designs has formed a collection for you to enjoy.
The birds compete for the food with our large squirrel population. I wrote a blog about a year ago on how my dad tried to relocate some of the squirrels. Well this year I bought a suirrel bungee. You load it with ears of corn and the squirrels jump on the cobs to eat. I have not had the squirrels take a ride yet. All they are doing is stealing corn from the bottom part of the cob but it is only a matter of time. I keep moving the bungee higher to tease them.
